Round comments on EnvyUS vs. Dignitas at Gfinity 2015 Summer Masters 1.

Envy v. Dignitas

Short commentary on the rounds played between EnvyUs and Dignitas at Gfninity 2015 Summer Master 1.

Dust2 starting as T:

1st: Winning pistol, and changing up the usual with Nico buying a scout.
2nd: While surviving anti-eco.
3rd: They almost lose the follow-up pistol ending up in a 1v1.

4th: Round ends up in a 3v3 and with 2 players from Envy deciding to push through a smoke, they get instantly taken out.

5th: Despite being on a save shox decides to buy a deagle, and takes out 3 players of Dignitas (Poor choice of gear for a pistol / eco – 0 molotovs to clear site, cornors safe and easily).

6^th Takes A site and while forcing 3 CTs to come from CT it almost goes in Envy favor, but aizy takes out all 3 in a 1v3 situation securing a round, which 95% of the time Envy would take.
7^th: Envy forces what they can, and again aizy manages to pull off a 2v1 situation where he is in a suboptimal position.
8^th Eco: Again no molotovs, and despite Envy only buying a deagle they still end up taking out 4 people.

9^Th: In spite of losing MSL in the beginning Envy loses every duel and ends up saving 2 their last 2 weapons.
10^th: Envy forcing and with deagles they make it a 3v5 which due to Kio who makes it a 2v1 the force buy works.

11^th : Due to the amount of lost players in winning rounds they are on a eco / leveling money. Which does cost Envy 3 players.

12^th: With a double AWP setup, with 1 pick in mid they decide at 25seconds to push the 4 remaining players through tunnel being an utter disaster with Kio spraying them down.

13^th: Pistol buy – Taking down NBK and smithz who were overrun, but by picking up the weapons they make it into a 2v2 and almost winning the round with only one player surviving.

14^th: Mid rush – Getting into B for almost free in a 2v2 after plant, which they win.

15^th: Poor buy from Envy, and Dignitas plays it safe and smart.

16^th: Winning pistol buy pushing as a unit, and Envy not hitting their shots.
17^th: P250 buy on Envy

18^th: Playing it smart, but shox happens.

19^th: Pistols + scout – Trying to make it expensive, and succeeds in that by taking out 3.

20^th: Pistols again for full buy in 21th round. Taking out 1 player, but with a little more luck and it would only have been 2 players surviving.

21th: Full buy. Leaving mid open until 1:10 mark, Nico gets a double by Envy just yoloing on the site from short. Surviving with 4. Envy really sloppy.

22th: Envy Force, against really sloppy play from Envy – Dignitas abuses it.

23th: Buying again – Pimp decimates Envy’s push in b-split.

24^th: Forcing – Pushing smokes, taking stupid risks and Dignitas punishes it.

Overpass Dignitas starts as CT:
1^st: Demolishing Envy who opted for long range duels with glocks.

2^nd: Envy force, taking out 2 players.

3^rd: P250 from Envy: Nico on 5-7, playing close and close to teammate – Nice change.

4^th: Losing 2 on B-short, should have traded to 3v3. Instead 2v4 and saving (smart).

5^th: Envy showing why grenades + molotovs are important. After losing B side trading 2 for 1 they save the last 3 – Making a buy in the next round possible, good decision. Although giving Envy a big bank.

6^th: Kjærbye and MSL holding it down, Envy sloppy use of grenades and communication (1 spotted long, no smoke towards graffiti) – Flashing through the smoke lower to give push from short it easier.

7^th: Forward push on A-long, Pimp getting two easy kills (Envy again not really playing it smart or safe), Pimp flanking shutting them down. Good usage of Nico + Pimp on long.

8^th:  Envy does a well-executed push (timings perfect), and the players on B had little chance.

9^th: Full buy on both, really well-played by Pimp – as well as decisions by Dignitas to push out from B as well. Envy wins the aim duels.

10^th: Eco – No dmg inflicted on Envy.

11^th: Buy with limited grenades. Winning with only Nico alive. Good hold by Dignitas, but Envy not picking up on MSL always playing close to B-long. (Good adjustment not to play at barrels since Envy always molo it)

12^th: Weaker buy than previous round, and head armor instead of a flash extra. 3v3 at 40 sec, and they play it passive in defensive position. Aizy clutches the round.

13^th: Even weaker buy, 3 x famas and 1 scout – full grenades though. Shox having the bomb pushes past truck, and MSL clutches a 3v1 with Envy being on 50HP combined. Again poor play from Envy.

14^th: 4 players on B, and shox again pushing first with the bomb.

15^th: Changing it up putting 2 in connector, again shox jumping yolo losing bomb.

16^th: Winning the pistol barely.

17^th: Envy forcing – Going full AKs / Galils and not having enough gear to take a site, Envy being Envy and winning a poor buy.

18^th: Dignitas forcing – Taking out 2 players. Ok for an eco.

19^th: AKs and limited gear, again relying on aim instead of play. Works due to Envy not hitting their shots.

20^th: Only pistol buy for Envy. And win the round with deagles and p250s. Again not using their gear against an eco, as well as knowing Envy always pushes when they are in a poor position.

21th: Pistols for a good buy next round – 2 flashes and a molo. Taking out 2 players, Happy and Kio surprised by a rush caught in bad positions.

22th: Envy peeking and taking advantage of a slower playing Dignitas losing only 1 player.

23rd: Pistols for Dignitas – 0 grenades, how Envy loses 2 players and let them get a plant. Sloppy play again. Knowing it is an eco play it smart, force them to push instead of giving away rifles.

24^th: Grenading a spot, 2v4 could have been a 2v1 if Happy had been a little more lucky.

25^th: Good idea by Dignitas, not using their gear at execution, Envy hitting their shots.

26^th: Tec-9 and 1 smoke, Envy playing it smart using range and forcing Dignitas into a disadvantage. A flash + smoke more would have been a good investment.

27^th: Envy in aggressive positions, trading in Dignitas’ favor, but NBK and Smith closes it out.

28^th: 5x Tec-9 and a flash, Kio flashing and demolishing the push. One should ditch the Tec-9 and go P250 + Flash / Smoke.

29^th: Standard map control round, Kio pushed aggressive again – Getting a lot of information before he falls back at the 1 minute mark. An utterly ridicules round, bomb plant get denied and Envy pushing in and Happy dies at 1 second left.

30^th: Kio takes same position, Dignitas punishes it. Smith vs. 3. Envy going aggressive instead of playing it smart, and force Dignitas to push. 

Overtime

31th: 1 molo on Dignitas – A push both shox and smithz caught off-guard. 3v2 Nico misses an AWP shot on Kio who punishes it by making it a 2v1 and they double peek the last T.

32th: Again 1 molo – Envy pushing all over and succeeding in the chaos.

33^rd: Punishing Kio for doing the same thing every round, smithz in an odd position taking out aizy with the bomb in toilets while shox is flanking destroying the 3v3 push that Dignitas attempts.

34^th: 3 Molotovs on Envy, 4 players on B, getting A for free. Envy winning every duel, and the gamble from Dignitas didn’t pay off.

 Cache starting as CT: 

1^st: Playing retake, Envy hitting their shots and taking it with 4 alive.
2^nd: Only pistols – Envy showing why you want a moltov for anti-eco. Lost 2 AKs though
3^rd: Few pistols – Happy pushing with their only AK in C, playing their anti-eco poor compared to last. With 2 Tec-9s and 2 x SMGs the AK should never be solo.

4^th: Buy, Nico without armor – 3 molos on Envy – Flawless A execute, Pimp v. 3 and doing the only sensible thing: Saving.

5^th: Pistols – With a lot of people at 3k+ they should have bought a few utility. 5 players surviving.

6^th: Kjærbye with 3k after buy – Spend some in pistols, to make it expensive for Envy when you got the money. A execute – Good use of molotovs, bomb pushing first, again….  MSL manages to close the round.
7^th¨Aizy pushing smoke, gets punished this round. Again, showing why you should buy molotovs as T, forcing MSL in a bad position, while they attempts to support with flashes the 4 Envy players overcome MSL and it is a 2v4 retake, and they wisely decide to save.
8^th: 3 saved guns and 5-7s, Envy getting the picks and taking it slow, knowing Dignitas is forced to push / peek.

9^th: Pistol and a Famas – Getting 2 kills.
10^th: Timings work out for Dignitas and they survive with 4 players.
11^th: Nico peeking main and getting a pick on Smithz, playing more aggressive catching Envy off-guard and winning their aimduels. Surviving with 3 players.

12^th: Double AWP on Dignitas, winning their aimduels – and Envy getting punished for not adjusting, and using all the gear they did before.
13^th: Envy force – Playing slow to see if Dignitas pushes, more aggressive positions catches Envy off-guard. And again bomb goes first.

14^th: Tec-9, armor and 2 flashes and a smoke. A defense holds, very nicely.

15^th: B-split, gets shut down by fast rotations and sloppy push from Envy.

16^th: Playing A –retake 4 on B, and only loses smithz who was on the site when they pushed.
17^th: P250 and 2 flashes, a push – Getting nothing out of it.
18^th: AK buy with 4 smokes and 3 flashes, Envy still on MP9s, but trading out and managing to make it a 3v3 and Happy makes it a 2v1, but Envy closes it out.
19^th: Pistols and 4 smokes, 2 molotovs and 2 flashes. Push gets stopped by NBK and Happy before they get close to A main.

20^th: Slow play – Trying to see if Envy should push, Envy playing defensive for once. Kio and smithz showing how to play B on cache.

21st: Force buy – Making it a 3v2, but Kio makes it a 2v2, and with both T and CT pushing around the map for information. Kio in an off-angle, and they only get the plant.

22^nd: Full buy – Still no molotovs, double AWP on Envy and Happy doing his known push into door. Happy and NBK shutting down the 3 remaining players who pushes A-main.
23^rd:  Forceing – Getting into B, and in spite of aizy getting two one-deagles it is still too much in the 4v2 situation. 

With Envy closing out cache with 16-8 score.  

Aside from Envy winning the game there is no doubt that the MVP of the maps was Pimp.
